Privacy policy
This page explains what personal information igloosoft.ca collects, why, and the choices you have. In short: we only run analytics if you say yes, we never sell your information, and you can change your mind at any time.
Who is responsible
Igloosoft is a software company based in Regina, Saskatchewan. The person responsible for protecting personal information at Igloosoft is Massoud Ahmadi, Founder. You can reach him at our contact address with any question or request about your information.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your name, email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it only to reply and to follow up on the work you asked about. We keep it as long as needed for that conversation and any project that comes from it, and we do not share it with anyone else.
Analytics, only if you accept
When you first visit, we ask whether we can use Google Analytics. Until you accept, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set.
If you accept, Google Analytics records how the site is used, such as:
- the pages you view and how far you scroll;
- links you click, including the email link and links to other sites;
- the site that referred you, and your approximate location (city or region);
- your device type, browser and screen size.
It does this with two cookies, _ga and _ga_68TVPC9WQ6, which last up to two years. Google receives your IP address to estimate your approximate location, but Google Analytics 4 does not log or store it. Google keeps the detailed, event-level data for 14 months; after that, only aggregated reports remain. We use it only in aggregate, to understand which parts of the site are useful. We have not enabled Google's advertising features, and we do not use it to identify you.
Your choice is saved in your browser so we don't ask on every visit. We ask again after a year, and until you answer, analytics stays off and any earlier analytics cookies are removed.
Other services the site relies on
Hosting. The site is served by Amazon Web Services (Amazon CloudFront and Amazon S3). Like any web server, AWS processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the page and protect the service. We do not turn on access logs.
Fonts. The site's typeface is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. Google Fonts does not set cookies.
Page code. The home page loads its open-source JavaScript libraries, such as React, from unpkg.com, a public content delivery network, so your browser also connects to unpkg's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details. We do not use unpkg to collect information about you.
Where your information goes
Google, AWS and unpkg may process the information described above outside Canada and outside Quebec, including in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, which may allow governments and courts to access it. We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Your choices and rights
- Change your analytics choice at any time with Cookie settings, also linked at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, analytics stops right away and its cookies are removed.
- Ask what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing our contact address. We reply within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or, if you live in Quebec, to the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the effective date at the top.
